CHITRAL: Two persons were arrested while trying to flee to Afghanistan after allegedly murdering a man in Shekhan Deh of Kalash valley over a petty issue.
The Lower Chitral police on Wednesday said that a report had been received at Rumbur police station about a clash over firewood between three persons.
According to the police report, two persons beat up a man over a dispute related to collection of firewood in a flooded stream.
After beating, stoning the man and critically injuring him, the two suspects escaped from the area. Later, the injured person succumbed to the injuries.
Over the incident, District Police Officer Iftikhar Shah directed Subdivisional Police Officer (SDPO) Bumburate Hassan Ullah to arrest the suspects. The police registered a case under section 302/34/324 of the PPC against the nominated persons.
Under the supervision of the SDPO, Station House Officer Rumbur Faizur Rehman launched efforts to trace and nab the suspects.
The two suspects identified as Matiullah, son of Abdul Mateen, Muhammad Qasim, son of Ghulam Rasool, residents of Sheikhan Deh Rumbur, were arrested while trying to cross over the border into Afghanistan.
