Flood inundates village, two killed

BOONI: Floodwater and debris inundated the Sor Rech village in Torkhow tehsil of Upper Chitral on Wednesday, killing two residents and injuring scores of others.

According to Rescue 1122 Upper Chitral, staffers have reached the remote area to help the affected people. The emergency service said that 44 houses have been damaged in the village.

Moreover, the floods also destroyed crops and fruit trees. 

The deceased persons were identified as Bulbul Ali and wife of Barkat Ali. Local volunteers have shifted the displaced persons to nearby areas.

Meanwhile, Upper Chitral is completely cut off after collapse of a bridge over Koghuzi nullah and erosion of the road at Shader in Reshun.
