14 Killed as Roof Collapses on Tuition Class in Lahore

Lahore, June 30, 2026: At least 14 children were killed after the roof of a house being used as a tuition center collapsed in the Kahna area of Lahore on Monday.

According to rescue officials, around 20 children were pulled from the rubble, but 14 were pronounced dead, while six others survived and are receiving medical treatment. Authorities fear that 10 to 15 more children may still be trapped beneath the debris, and rescue operations are continuing.

Reports said the house was operating as a private tuition center where nearly 35 children attended classes daily. The roof, reportedly constructed with T-R girders and covered with a heavy layer of mud, suddenly collapsed, burying the students under the debris.

Residents immediately alerted emergency services and joined rescue workers in the search effort. Rescue teams are carefully removing debris by hand instead of using heavy machinery to avoid causing further harm to anyone trapped underneath.

Medical officials at THQ Hospital Kahna confirmed the deaths of 14 children and said several others were injured. Authorities are continuing the operation to locate any remaining victims, while the cause of the collapse is expected to be investigated.
