Chitral, July 1, 2026: Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms triggered flash floods in parts of Lower Chitral overnight, damaging crops, houses and livestock shelters, while no loss of life has been reported, according to Rescue 1122.
District Emergency Officer Sajjad Ali Yousafzai said Rescue 1122 teams remained on high alert throughout the night, conducting patrols and responding to emergencies in coordination with the district administration.
Flash floods affected different parts of Broze, Seen, Korom Kor and Goldeh, where standing crops, several houses and livestock sheds suffered partial damage.
Rescue teams carried out relief operations and helped reopen roads blocked by floodwaters, restoring traffic flow.
In Osiak village, a taxi vehicle became trapped in a flash flood. Rescue 1122 personnel reached the scene and launched a recovery operation to retrieve the vehicle.
Rescue 1122 said its control room had not received any reports of casualties from the overnight rains.
