YARKHUN: The mobile phone service in Bang, Meragram No 2 and other nearby villages in Yarkhun has been unavailable for long due to a fault in the Telenor company\’s tower.
Local people told ChitralToday that the issue had been brought under the notice of officials concerned of the mobile phone service providing company but it was yet to be fixed.
As a result of the faulty tower No 57 installed in Meragram No 2, consumers in many villages remain disconnected as Telenor is the only mobile phone service provider in Yarkhun.
In other areas of Yarkhun, mobile phone towers are operated through solar power but in Meragram No 2 it is connected to the local powerhouse round the clock, but still it is not working due to the fault, the residents said.
They demanded that the higher authorities should order immediate repair of the fault to ensure uninterrupted service in the area.
