BOONI: A young man lost his life after a 12-bore shotgun accidentally went off in Upper Chitral’s Miragram-1 village on September 19.
According to local reports, Yasir Ali, son of Yadgar Ali, sustained critical injuries after the firearm discharged accidentally.
He was being shifted to a hospital in Booni for medical treatment but succumbed to his injuries on the way. His body was later taken to a government hospital, where police completed the necessary legal formalities before handing it over to his family.
Yasir Ali was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Miragram-1.
The deceased had completed a pharmacy course and was serving as a volunteer at a private hospital.
Similar incident in Khot
Meanwhile, another young man was killed after his firearm accidentally discharged in Khot Upper Chitral, according to local sources.
The deceased was identified as Noor, son of Mir Azam. According to initial information, the incident occurred when the gun suddenly went off, leaving him critically injured. He reportedly died at the scene.
Police reached the location shortly after receiving information and took the body into custody. The body was shifted to Category-D Hospital Booni for legal formalities.
