ISLAMABAD: An Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court has declared Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, sisters of PTI founder Imran Khan, proclaimed offenders in the October 4 protest case and issued permanent arrest warrants against them.
The order was issued by ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Supra during a hearing of the case.
Police had completed the proclamation proceedings and submitted a report to the court, following which the judge accepted the report and declared the two sisters proclaimed offenders.
The court has also sought details of their properties as part of the ongoing proceedings.
The case against Aleema and Uzma Khan was registered at Kohsar Police Station in Islamabad in connection with the October 4 protests. Police presented the required record before the court as part of the legal process.
With the issuance of permanent arrest warrants, the authorities can now take steps to arrest the two women in accordance with the court’s orders.
The development adds to the legal challenges facing members and supporters of the PTI, as several cases linked to protests and political demonstrations remain pending before courts across the country.
