Karachi, July 15, 2026: New private airline South Air has announced the launch of its domestic flight operations from July 16, 2026, aiming to strengthen air connectivity across Pakistan and improve access to underserved regions.

In the initial phase, the airline will operate scheduled flights between Karachi, Islamabad and Bahawalpur, while also introducing services from Karachi to Gwadar, Sukkur and Rahim Yar Khan.

South Air said the new routes are expected to boost business, tourism, education and regional connectivity. The airline will begin operations with ATR 72-600 aircraft.

Chief Executive Officer Nishat Fatima said South Air’s launch represents an effort to expand Pakistan’s domestic aviation network by providing safe, reliable and high-quality air travel, particularly to cities with limited flight services.

She added that the airline plans to expand both its fleet and route network in the near future.

South Air has also signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Dreamworld Destination Hotels & Golf Course to offer joint travel packages, promotional discounts and tourism initiatives.

According to aviation experts, the entry of South Air is expected to increase competition in Pakistan’s aviation sector, strengthen regional air links and support trade, investment and tourism.
