BOONI: The district administration of Upper Chitral has imposed restrictions on night-time futsal tournaments in the Torkhow and Mulkhow areas following complaints from local residents.

According to an official notification issued by the Additional Assistant Commissioner (Executive Magistrate), the decision aims to address concerns over futsal tournaments being organized late at night and their potential impact on young people’s education, daily routines and social activities.

Under the new directives, organizers have been prohibited from holding such tournaments during restricted night hours.

The notification also directs that children below the age of 18 must not remain outside their homes after 1pm without a genuine and necessary reason. In exceptional circumstances, permission from parents or guardians will be required.

The district administration has directed the concerned police and administrative authorities to ensure strict implementation of the order and take legal action against futsal ground owners violating the restrictions.

The administration has also instructed officials to publicize the restrictions through announcements at local mosques and other public places as well as around futsal grounds to ensure awareness among residents.
