Khuzdar, April 20, 2026: A female police constable was martyred during an exchange of fire with terrorists in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district, becoming the first woman in the province’s history to lose her life while fighting militants in the line of duty.
According to police officials, the incident took place in the Baghbana area, where a police team responded to a reported theft. Upon arrival, the personnel were ambushed by armed militants who had been lying in wait and ordered the officers to surrender.
Refusing to give in, the police personnel engaged the attackers, leading to a fierce gun battle. During the exchange of fire, Lady Constable Malik Naz and Head Constable Samiullah were martyred on the spot, while two other officers sustained serious injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital.
Officials said Malik Naz’s sacrifice reflects exceptional courage and dedication to duty. She belonged to a family with a history of service, as her husband, a Levies Force official, was previously martyred in a targeted attack. She is survived by three young children.
Law enforcers have launched an investigation into the attack, vowing to bring those responsible to justice. Security forces also reiterated their resolve to continue operations against terror elements until lasting peace is achieved in the region.
