Special Correspondent

Chitral, April 17, 2026: The Traffic Warden Police in Lower Chitral launched a special crackdown and removed illegal roadside vendors following public complaints about traffic congestion in the city.

The operation was carried out on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Riffatullah Khan. Incharge Traffic Warden Police Sub-Inspector Adil Ahmed Baig led the campaign along with his team in the main Chitral bazaar.

During the drive, pushcart vendors and Suzuki drivers obstructing traffic were removed from busy roads and shifted to the Sabzi Mandi, where the district administration has allocated a designated space for them.

Officials said the campaign aimed to ensure smooth traffic flow and remove encroachments from public roads.

The traffic police warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found violating the directives in the future.
