AI Courses From Class 6th Announced In KP

Peshawar, Nov 11, 2025: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has announced the launch of Artificial Intelligence (AI) courses in schools starting from grade six.

During a meeting with officials from the Elementary and Secondary Education Department, Afridi emphasized that AI is critical for the future of education, governance, healthcare, and industry. He directed the department to take immediate action to integrate AI education, ensuring all students are equipped with globally competitive skills.

“A comprehensive understanding of AI will empower our youth, fostering creativity and critical thinking,” Afridi said, highlighting that the curriculum will not just teach coding but also encourage innovation. The Chief Minister also announced the creation of new teaching positions in merged districts to support the AI initiative, ensuring a well-resourced teaching staff.

In addition to this, Afridi instructed the Education Minister and department officials to conduct surprise school inspections to monitor attendance and performance. Negligent officials would face strict action, including removal from their posts.
