CHITRAL, Sept 20, 2025: Police teams in Lower Chitral carried out back-to-back operations against drug traffickers, leading to the recovery of a substantial quantity of narcotics and the arrest of two suspects.
In the first action, a team led by SDPO Chitral Circle Sajjad Hussain and SHO City Police Station SI Haider Hussain, assisted by ASI Rehmat Khan and his squad, intercepted a habitual drug dealer, Abdul Nasir, resident of Mustajabandeh.
During the operation, the police recovered 1,277 grams of hashish and 67 grams of ice (methamphetamine) from his possession, preventing its circulation in the local community.
Meanwhile, in another separate raid, ASI Azfar Alam along with his team apprehended a notorious drug seller, Ejaz Rasheed, also a resident of Mustajabandeh. From him, the police seized 853 grams of hashish, further tightening the noose on narcotics peddlers in the area.
Overall, the operations resulted in the recovery of 2.13 kilograms of hashish and 67 grams of ice, while both accused were taken into custody and shifted to the police station for further interrogation and legal proceedings.
Police officials emphasized that the operations reflect their unwavering determination, reiterating: “Our commitment is a drug-free Lower Chitral.”
