Right-of-Way Record Released for Chitral Dorah Pass Road

CHITRAL: The federal government granted Chitral Garam Chashma-Dorah Pass Road national highway status on May 6, 2020.

Authorities have released Right-of-Way (RoW) details based on records from the Land Revenue Settlement Office, Chitral. The National Highway Authority (NHA) has begun the land takeover.

The road runs 144.2 kilometers, with an average width of 12 meters. Widths vary between five and 16 meters. The provincial Department of Works owns most sections; only Shah Saleem falls under the Chitral District Council.

Wider sections: Shaghoor (15 m), Bakhtoli (11 m), Singoor (12 m). Narrower sections: Garam Chashma, Meherdin Gabor, Shah Saleem (5–6 m).

Officials say the NHA will soon begin widening and upgrading the road. All legal transfer procedures are complete.

This move will improve infrastructure, make travel safer, and ensure transparency in development projects.
