Female police constable shot dead in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: A female police constable was shot dead at Peshawar interchange located in the jurisdiction of Shahpur Police Station on Saturday.

According to police, the constable was posted to Charsadda. She came under attack when unknown gunmen opened fire on her and fled the scene in Peshawar.

Police sources said that the constable was shot dead by her husband.

Law enforcement personnel reached the site promptly, collected forensic evidence, and launched a search operation in the area to trace the attackers.

Officials said an investigation is underway with multiple angles being explored to determine the motive behind the killing. CCTV footage and other evidence are also being reviewed as part of the probe.

Senior police officials and colleagues have expressed deep sorrow over the loss, paying tribute to the constable’s service.
