Tehreek Lotkoh-Dorah road launched

GARAM CHASHMA: A large public gathering was held here today as elders and residents from all valleys of Lotkoh converged to launch a movement demanding the construction of the long-neglected Garam Chashma road.

Initially called as a joint meeting, the event turned into a full-fledged public rally due to overwhelming participation.

Nawab Khan, patron of the movement, said the purpose of the gathering was to bring together all residents of Lotkoh on one platform and initiate a formal campaign for their rights.

“Our Sharafat is being mistaken for weakness. We are being denied basic necessities, and it’s time we raise our collective voice,” he stated.

The participants formally launched the Tehreek Lotkoh Dorah Road and formed an interim cabinet to lead the campaign.

Movement president Nusrat Elahi, while addressing the crowd, said the people of Lotkoh had unanimously decided to rise above political and personal interests and fight for the construction of the road under a single-point agenda.

“As citizens of Pakistan, we demand our constitutional right to basic infrastructure. We are ready to make every sacrifice for the reconstruction of the Garam Chashma road.”

Vice president Sajjad Ahmed said, “Struggle for rights is the sign of a living nation. We have endured eight decades of deprivation, but we cannot bear it any longer. We are now launching this formal movement, and nothing will stop us.”

General secretary Allauddin Haidari highlighted the historical unity of Lotkoh, expressing hope that this campaign would also set a new example.

Representing Shoghore UC, Ijaz Ahmed noted that efforts had long been made to divide the people for vested interests.

“True development will begin the day we unite with a common cause,” he said.

Several other residents also spoke during the event, pledging full commitment to the cause and readiness to offer any personal or collective sacrifice.

The interim cabinet concluded the meeting by announcing that the next gathering of the movement would be held on April 15, 2025, in Shoghore, with participation from local leaders and residents of Karimabad, Arkari, and Shoghore. The future strategy of the movement will be decided collectively at the event.
