Roadmap finalized for development of Kalash valleys

PESHAWAR: The Kalash Valley Development Authority (KVDA) has finalized its ‘strategic roadmap and visionary plan designed to create a comprehensive strategy for the sustainable development of the valleys.

To achieve this, a detailed consultative workshop was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Minhas Uddin, Director General of KVDA. The heads of line departments and representatives of NGOs operating in Chitral attended the meeting.

The primary objective of the session was to finalize the roadmap and strategic plan using an integrated approach, focusing on short-, medium-, and long-term strategies across 11 key thematic sectors.

This roadmap, the first of its kind for the Kalash Valleys, was developed through extensive collaborative data collection, active community engagement, and contributions from relevant departments and partners. It includes clearly defined sector-specific strategies and a detailed implementation framework.

The Strategic Roadmap and Visionary Plan is fully aligned with provincial priorities and serves as a guiding document for all stakeholders. It addresses the unique needs of the Kalash valleys while ensuring long-term sustainability and resilience.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the heads of government departments and development partners praised the document as a significant milestone. They emphasized the importance of collective efforts to achieve sustainable development and recognized the roadmap as an invaluable tool to identify community needs, bridge existing gaps, and implement actionable strategies across critical sectors with a clear execution mechanism.

Community elders expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the efforts of the government and development partners in advancing the Kalash Valleys.
