Appointment of new teachers soon: minister
PESHAWAR: Over 13,000 vacant posts of teachers and other staff in schools of Khyber Pakthunkhwa will be filled soon, said education minister Faisal Khan Tarakai.
He was chairing a meeting held to discuss the appointment process in the education department in Peshawar.
Tarakai said that advertisement would be published to hire teachers to overcome shortage in schools next week. Test procedure, item databank and other formalities would be finalized with ETA in the current week, the minister added.
Besides the 13,000 vacancies of to be filled through ETA, any shortage in schools would be fulfilled in consultation with the patent-teacher councils, he added.
The minister said that the government had also approached donor agencies to overcome teacher shortage and with the cooperation of Unicef 1,800 teachers would be arranged in 21 districts of the province on a temporary basis.
