Mushaira that hit many raw nerves
CHITRAL: A Mushaira attended by both male and female students and faculty members at the University of Chitral on Independence Day hit many a raw nerve among religious circles, especially on social media, who declared it against religious and cultural norms.
However, a statement issued on Monday said that religious leaders, civil society representatives held a meeting with the university management and discussed the issue.
The statement said that the university administration promised to take solid measures to avoid such ‘incidents’ in future.
Moreover, in future, all programs will be held in accordance with the University Act by taking into consideration the local traditions and culture. Both the sides also agreed that no further discussion would be made on the current issue. –Bashir Hussain Azad
Here I am going to mention some of the grave issues, Chitral is facing :
1. our river beds are full of filth and dirt. Ulama of any sect can make aware communities during their power show on different occasions ( Khutba, both Eids, festivals etc).
2. Our roads have been uprooted since long with out any alternate solution and no work is in progress.
3. Environmental issues, climatic challenges, deforestation, overgrazing, brain drain of youth,
You may add many more.
Dear readers,
there are more grave issues, Chitral is facing than the co mushaira. University students be it girls or boys in most cases are parents are mature enough to be the participants. They better know where to go or not. People un necessarily dictate and interfere others matters and lives. University is a master hub of learning, and the students can better discuss issues and challenges together. you can not keep humans in isolation. Humans are social animals ( a famous Greek philosopher has rightly said ). They have to communicate, interact, argue and come up with solutions. Please grow up, we are living in 21st century.
