PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Fatehul Mulk Ali Nasir has issued a fervent plea for urgent action amidst the ongoing snowfall in upper and lower Chitral, which has led to the closure of all roads and disrupted communication channels, effectively confining residents to their homes.
Expressing concern over the dire situation, Nasir has called upon Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur, as well as domestic and foreign NGOs, including PDMA and NDMA, to engage with the federal government and declare Chitral as a disaster zone. This designation would mobilize critical resources and assistance to address the pressing needs of the affected communities.
Nasir stressed the importance of providing heavy machinery for the maintenance of communication roads in different areas of Chitral to restore connectivity and facilitate the movement of essential supplies and emergency services.
While acknowledging the efforts of the district administration within its limited resources, he emphasized the urgency of additional support to mitigate the impact of the ongoing crisis.
Furthermore, Nasir underscored the necessity for NDMA and PDMA to remain on high alert, prepared to respond swiftly to any potential untoward incidents in Chitral.
The proactive stance advocated by Nasir aims to preemptively address the looming challenges posed by the inclement weather and ensure the safety and well-being of the local population.
As the situation in Chitral remains precarious, Nasir’s impassioned appeal serves as a rallying cry for collaborative action and solidarity in the face of adversity.
By advocating for the declaration of Chitral as a disaster zone and mobilizing resources for relief efforts, Nasir seeks to alleviate the hardships faced by the affected communities and pave the way for a swift and effective response to the crisis at hand.
