BOONI: The annual Qaqlasht festival will start on April 18 as earlier scheduled, the organizing committee announced after a meeting here.
The committee held a meeting to review the arrangements for the mega festival at the residence of committee general secretary Muhammad Habib Lal in Warijun with Younas Khan in the chair.
The participants of the meeting, including conveners of different games, reviewed the arrangements for the festival.
President of the Qaqlasht festival committee Shahzada Sikendarul Mulk could not attend the meeting due to inclement weather. He told the meeting on phone that the committee would meet the district administration officials on Monday before the start of the event in Wednesday.
It was decided that the district police officer would be requested to deploy personnel to protect the green area from spectators during the last festival.
It may be recalled that the Qaqlasht festival is being organized after a break of five years. This year the committee is organizing the festival without any role from the district administration.
