BOONI: An Afghan national who was working as shepherd for people of Istaru village was found dead on the bank of the river near the village on Saturday.
The district administration of Upper Chitral said the dead body had been shifted to the headquarters hospital in Booni for a postmortem to ascertain the actual cause of dead.
In a statement, the deputy commissioner office said that the dead body was recovered from the riverside in the limits of Torkhow and initially the deceased was identified as Noor Zamin.
A Rescue 1122 team was sent to the area which shifted the dead body to hospital. Later, it transpired that the deceased was Muhammad Amin, son of Itibar Khan, an Afghan refugee. The cause of death would be ascertained after postmortem.
Earlier in the day, local people had said that the shepherd died after falling from a hill near Istaru village.
