CHITRAL: A young boy who was working as driver of an excavator passed away after an accident while going to clear the road to Arkari in Lower Chitral.
Amir Shah, son of Ghulam Shah, from Siah Arkari, was the only son of his parents and worked as the excavator driver to support his family.
He was behind the wheel and clearing the Arkari road of snow and debris when the excavator of the private contractor overturned on him, killing the driver on the spot.
The dead body official the driver was shifted to his native village and laid to rest.
Former village council nazim Abdul Majid said there is no one in the family of Amir to support them. He appealed to the government to help the family of Amir who lost his life while working on the blocked road.
Roads across Chitral were blocked due to the record heavy snowfall from March 1 to 3 and later because of landsliding. Most of the sub-valleys are still cut off as snow has not been removed from the roads.–Karimullah
