Unregistered Afghans told to leave Chitral by Oct 25
CHITRAL: The district administration of Lower Chitral has directed all unregistered Afghan nationals in Chitral to leave by October 25 and return to their country.
A notice issued to the Afghan refugees warned that action would be initiated against all those living in Chitral without proof of registration (POR) and Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) issued by the government of Pakistan after Oct 25.
However, those Afghan nationals having any of these two documents would need not to worry as no action would be taken against them.
The illegal Afghans have been told to approach the UNHCR office in Denin and leave the district.
It may be mentioned here that the federal government has set the deadline of November 1 for all illegal foreigners to leave the country or face deportation.
