CHITRAL: Newly-posted District Police Officer (DPO) Lower Chitral Ikram Ullah Khan visited the Chitral Police Lines soon after taking charge of his office.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Abdul Sattar Khan and DSP headquarters Ahmed Isa accompanied DPO Ikram, who has been posted to Chitral for the second time.
During the visit, the DPO inspected the gate security, Roznamcha, CCTV cameras, residential quarters of the Jawans, barracks, mess and the overall security arrangements in the police lines, said a spokesman for the police.
Moreover, the DPO also visited different sections of the police lines and ordered the officials concerned to further improve their working.
He also inspected the police vehicles and issued direction for their proper maintenance.
Meanwhile, the DPO on Tuesday conducted a snap visit to the Chitral City police station and inspected front desk, lock-up and the record room of the police station.
The DPO directed the staff to deal with citizens visiting the police station in a professional way and resolve their issues at the police station level.
He also inspected the weapons and immunition of the staff on duty and asked them to ensure use of jackets and helmets keeping the prevailing security situation in the country in mind.
He also stressed that all-out efforts should be made to ensure protection of the life and property of the citizens, adding the police should also ensure proper patrolling and snap checking to maintain peace in the district.
