Shandur road: public protests announced from May 18
BOONI: Tehreek Huqooq-e-Awam here on Monday announced that public protests would be launched if the government failed to resume work on the stalled Chitral-Shandur road project by May 18.
The announcement was made by Muhammad Pervez Lal after a meeting of the Tehreek with its chief Mukhtar Lal concluded here today.
The participants expressed regrets that the government had suspended work on the project without giving any reason.

Meanwhile, civil society and public representatives of Chitral have already deplored the suspension of the construction work on Chitral-Shandur road by the National Highway Authority (NHA).
At a press conference in Chitral, they called upon the government to revise its decision and release funds for the project.
They also warned of public protests in case work on the project was not resumed soon.
