WAPDA vehicle caught smuggling timber out of Chitral
CHITRAL: A government vehicle owned by the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) was caught smuggling timber out of Chitral, the district administration said on Saturday.
It said on the direction of the deputy commissioner Lower Chitral, checking had been intensified at all check posts.
It said the levies and forest department officials at Baradam check post in Lowari Pass area stopped a government vehicle.
During checking, timber were found concealed in the vehicle after which it was impounded.
The DC has directed the officials concerned to initiate legal action against the responsible persons.
