High court judge to hear cases in Chitral

CHITRAL: Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Mr Justice Qaiser Rashid Khan during his visit to Lower and Upper Chitral inaugurated the tehsil bar building in Drosh.
Lawyers of the Tehsil Bar Association organized a brief ceremony in his honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Qaiser announced that a judge of the high court will be visiting the circuit bench in Chitral to hear cases to save the litigants from visiting Darul Qaza, Swat or the high court in Peshawar.
He said the the additional commissioner of Malakand Division should also set up a camp court in Chitral every week to deal with the cases of administrative matters so that the people here do not have to go to Swat for this purposes.
He said that he was very saddened to see the dilapidated condition of the roads of Chitral and immediately sent a notice to the Chairman of the National Highway Authority and summoned him to the High Court.
He said that the chairman NHA had been directed to immediately arrange fund for construction and maintenance of roads in Chitral. Now the condition of these roads is getting better, he observed.
He said that necessary steps were taken to protect the forests of Chitral and to stop brutal cutting of the forests.
He also said that steps would be taken to make the local people benefit from the minerals of Chitral and now these minerals will not be sold at exorbitant prices to non-locals.
Taking immediate action on the long-standing demand of the lawyers’ community, the chief justice directed the secretary and director general of the health department to immediately send a lady doctor to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Drosh so that female patients can be treated easily.
