Teenage boy’s dead body recovered

CHITRAL: The dead body of a teenage boy, who drowned in the Chitral river along with his motorcycle on Aug 5, was recovered on Saturday.

Rescue 1122 said after being alerted about the presence of the body, its team reached Orghoch Lasht and retrieved it from the water.

The teenage boy’s dead body was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital and later handed over to the relatives of the deceased.

The 16-year-old Shayan Ahmed, son of Shakil Ahmed, a native of Torkhow and living in Peshawar, was going towards Booni on a motorcycle when he fell into the river near the new bridge to Oveer valley.

The boy was nephew of Prof Jamil Ahmed Chitrali of Peshawar University, and was in Chitral on holidays. He was the only son of his parents.
