Court moved against ETEA for not opening centre in Chitral

BOONI: An application has been filed in a court in Booni seeking a stay order against holding of tests by the Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA) for candidates from Chitral at Chakdara instead of Chitral.

The court was moved against ETEA by youth councilor Attaur Rehman for calling candidates belonging to Chitral to Chakdara for the tests for the posts of school leader under the KP education department.

The application said according to an advertisement placed in newspapers by ETEA on Feb 27, 2022, the authority had itself declared that a centre would be set up for the tests in Chitral.

However, now the authority has decided to conduct the tests at Malakand University in Chakdara on June 29 and 30, 2022. He said 90 per cent of candidates from Chitral wouldn’t be able to appear in the test at such a far-off centre.

This will deprive a large number of youth from Chitral of their right to sit the tests and will also cause mental torture to them.

After hearing the plea, the civil judge issued order for the authorities of ETEA to appear before the court on June 28.
