CHITRAL: Ten teams participated in the second deputy commissioner\’s veterans football cup tournament held here on Tuesday.
The players in the tournament were aged above 40 years.
In the final match, Chumarkhon defeated Zhang Bazaar team by five goals against four.
Additional deputy commissioner (revenue) Anwar Akbar distributed trophies and awards at the concluding ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, district sports officer Alam Zeb said the department was trying its best to provide recreational activities to youth as well as elderly people.
District Football Association\’s former president Hussain Ahmed complained that five percent of the district budget was allocated for sports activities every year but since 2016 this amount had not been released for the purpose.–GH Farooqui
