CHAKDARA: Thousands of candidates, including women, had to travel all the way from Chitral to Malakand University in Chakdara on Sunday to appear in a test for various vacant posts in the departments of education and prisons.
There were only three posts reserved for Upper Chitral and only for Lower Chitral.
Despite repeated demand and hardship by candidates, the government failed to set up a centre for the test in Chitral. Three persons could have come to Chitral and take the test saving thousands of candidates from travelling to Chakdara and staying in hotels for the test, some of the candidates told ChitralToday.
According to sources, test centers have been set up in most of the districts of the province except Chitral.
The candidates had to stay in Timergara and Swat due to lack of hotel facilities in Chakdara. They had to hire taxis to reach the university that put an additional burden on the parents of the unemployed youth.
On the other hand, despite repeated calls for the establishment of a center in Chitral, political leaders, including elected representatives, remained silent spectators, said the Chitrali candidates.
