Journalists in Peshawar protest Mohsin Baig’s arrest

PESHAWAR: Khyber Union of Journalists (KUJ) held protest outside Peshawar Press Club on Thursday against the arrest of media person Mohsin Baig in Islamabad a day earlier.

Senior journalists from different print and electronic media attended the protest. The participants were carrying placards and chanting slogans.

In a statement, KUJ president Nasir Hussain said the arrest of Mr Baig and his torture by using third grade tactics cannot be tolerated and the entire media community was united and condemned this illegal act.

KUJ vice president Baseer Qalandar said journalist organizations will not tolerate and accept such a brutality on any media person. The protest ended with the demand that the government should release the media person.
