Baba who defeated Covid at 103 passes away
BOONI: Aziz Abdul Alim, who defeated Covid-19 in 2020 at the age of 103, passed away after a short illness here on Thursday.
Family sources told ChitralToday that Alim Baba was sick for the last a week or so and had taken the booster dose of the corona vaccine recently.
After being tested positive in July 2020, the old man was admitted at an emergency response centre in Booni.
“We were worried for him given his age, but he wasn’t worried at all,” Alim’s son Sohail Ahmed had told Reuters on phone from his village, close to Pakistan’s border with China and Afghanistan.
A carpenter until his 70s, Alim has outlived three wives and nine sons and daughters, said Ahmed, who is himself in his 50s, adding that his father had separated from his fourth wife and was currently married to his fifth.
Alim also had to be provided with moral and psychological support during his isolation and treatment, Dr Sardar Nawaz had said.
