CHITRAL: A woman has expressed disappointment over police apathy in arresting the killers of her husband even after the passage of 18 years.
Addressing a press conference here, the widow of Asmat Khuda, a resident of Chewodok, said her husband, who was a taxi driver, was murdered in Shandur by some people, including the main suspect identified as Shah Zeb, over 18 years ago.
The alleged main murderer is known to the police and he is working as a Class-IV in a government department in Gilgit, she added.
She said a police team sent to Gilgit came back without arresting the murderer due to non-cooperation by the Gilgit-Baltistan police.
The woman said during the last 18 years no government helped her in arresting the culprit and providing her justice.
She called upon the chief justice of Peshawar High Court to take notice of the police inaction and order the arrest of the alleged killer and provide her justice.—Bashir Hussain Azad
