Dengue case emerges in Chitral
CHITRAL: The first local case of dengue fever has been reported in the district of Lower Chitral.
Aftab Alam, 19, was brought to the DHQ hospital from a village in Lotkoh with high grade fever and other symptoms of dengue. Doctors at the hospital carried out lab tests that confirmed he was a dengue case.
It has been learnt that earlier two other persons with dengue had reported to the hospital but they had returned from Peshawar and Swat recently. However, the boy from Lotkoh had never gone out of the district recently.
Deputy Commissioner Hassan Abid said he had ordered the health department officials to visit the village of the patient in Lotkoh and carry out survellance and spray for dengue larva there.–Syed Nazir Hussain
