Latest News National News First female SHO in Chitral editor September 23, 2021 1 Comment female SHO CHITRAL: For the first time in the history of Chitral, a policewoman has been posted as the station house officer (SHO) of Shoghore village. After assuming her duties as SHO, Dilshad Pari inspected the situation of pending police cases, lock-ups and security check points of her police station. Dilshad was previously in-charge of the women’s desk in Lower Chitral. She was recruited as an assistant sub-inspector in police through the public service commission. Her services have been frequently recognized by police high-ups, especially for her role in resolving basic issues of women including domestic disputes and fake marriages. She has also been appreciated for working at the community level and helping reduce suicide rates in her area. District Police Officer Lower Chitral Sonia Shamrooz appreciated the posting of a female officer as a SHO in Chitral and expressed the hope that Dilshad Pari would play an effective role in making women policing more practical apart from helping to resolve women’s issues in Chitral more effectively. She added that women desks had played an immense role in reducing the incidence of domestic violence. “With the deployment of female SHOs, female officers will now be able to better address the issues being faced by women,” she said. That’s wonderful. Most of police women in KP [province belong to Chitral. Women of Chitral are very hardworking and educated. I have seen lots of women from Chitral in universities of Punjab and KP. Women of Chitral I think are ahead of other districts of KP in terms of education.
