PESHAWAR: A polo player from Upper Chitral sustained injuries after falling from his horse during a match in the polo ground in Chitral town.
The player, Israr Alam, a resident of Awi, Upper Chitral was shifted to Peshawar and admitted to a private hospital in the provincial capital.
Sources in the hospital told ChitralToday that Alam is recuperating fast at the clinic and would be discharge after a few days.
Despite rising cost of keeping horses, the game of polo is still famous in Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Polo enthusiasts have called upon the government to patronize polo and provide facilities to the players to promote the game in the region.
