RHC closed after six staffers tested positive for coronavirus

AYUN: Six staffers of Rural Health Centre (RHC) Ayun and four other people have been found infected with coronavirus.

Moreover, samples of six other employees of the hospital have been sent for test and the results are awaited, officials told ChitralToday. 

After the emergence of the new cases, the health authorities closed the RHC for an indefinite period.

Those found infected with the virus included a lab technician, a lab attendant, a driver, watchman, and an immunization programme worker. They all were asymptomatic.

It may be mentioned that 24 out of 40 people randomly tested for coronavirus in Madak Lasht Lower Chitral also tested positive a few days ago.

Rescue 1122 on Tuesday disinfected the premises of the RHC Ayun which would only be opened on the direction of the district health officer (DHO), Dr Haiderul Mulk.

The closure of the health centre without any alternative arrangements created hardship for patients.–Muhkam Uddin Ayuni
