Police martyrs paid tributes in Chitral

CHITRAL: Martyrs of police were paid tributes in Chitral like in other parts of the country on Aug 4.

Scores of policemen belonging to Chitral sacrificed their lives against terrorists in different parts of the province during the last about two decades.

On Aug 4 every year, the nation pays tributes to the police martyrs.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year the day started with Quran khwani and prayers in the mosque of the Police Lines in Lower Chitral for the martyrs.

Later, District Police Officer (DPO) Abdul Hayee Khan and DSP Headquarters Zafar Khan laid wreaths on the monument of martyrs (Yadgar-e-Shuhada) at the the police lines.

A function was also held in which heirs of the martyred police officials were presented gifts by the DPO.

Speakers on the occasion paid tributes to the policemen who laid their lives in the line of duty.–Bashir Hussain Azad
