Man from Lotkoh acquitted in narcotics case

MINGORA: Peshawar High Court Swat bench (Darul Qaza) acquitted a resident of Garam Chashma in a drug case, his relatives told ChitralToday.

Khosh  Diyar, son of Dinar Khan, of Gobor village, was sentenced to 14  years in jail and fined Rs200,000 by a court in Chitral in July 2019. Currently, he is jailed in Mardan.

The case was challenged in the high court by the family of Khosh Dyar through Rahimullah Chitrali Advocate.

The appeal was taken up by Justice Wiqar Ahmed and Justice Syed Arshad Ali. After hearing the defence counsel and the prosecution the court acquitted the convict and ordered his immediate release from jail.

The short order said: “For reason to be recorded later in the detailed judgement, this appeal is allowed, the impugned judgement dated 11.7. 2019 passed by learned Session judge/judge model criminal trial court/judge special court Chitral is set aside and appellant/convict Khosh Diyar, son of Dinar is acquitted of the charge/FIR registered by Lotkoh police on 25.12.2018. He be released forthwith from jail if not required in any other case.”
