Two more COVID-19 patients go home after recovery

BOONI: Two more COVID-19 patients were on Sunday sent to their homes in Torkhow and Charun in Upper Chitral after they recovered from the disease, a health official told ChitralToday.

The COVID-19 patients were discharged from the isolation unit set up at the Govt Girls Degree College Khandan near Booni.

District administration officials and doctors from the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital were present on the occasion and presented flowers to the recovered patients before they left for their homes.

With the recovery of these two, there are five active patients in isolation in Upper Chitral.

One patient from Laspur had been discharged earlier. The district of Upper Chitral registered its first patient on April 21 and had a total of eight positive patients.

The first COVID-19 patient of Lower Chitral was reported on April 19 followed by a single-day spike of nine patients on April 30. After registering a total of 34 patients, there have been no more cases.

As many as 19 of the total patients have been discharged after recovery from the disease, while there are currently 15 active patients in the district.

Besides, over 1,200 people have been kept on quarantine in Drosh and Chitral towns.

So far, the recovery rate has been encouraging as there has been no death in whole Chitral and all the active patients are also in stable conditions.
