JUI ends Islamabad sit-in, announces to block roads, highways
ISLAMABAD: JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Wednesday evening announced to wind up the Azadi March in Islamabad and to block not only major arteries but also roads and streets of the country from 2pm on Thursday as plan B of his party started against the PTI government.
He said the GT Road between Peshawar and Rawalpindi would also be blocked tomorrow. He added that the National Highway in Sindh, the Quetta-Chaman road in Balochistan, the Silk Road in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Indus Highway in Punjab have already been blocked.
The maulana called upon people from Karachi to Chitral and Gwadar to Gilgit-Baltistan to come out and lodge their protest against the government.
It may be noted that the JUI started its Azadi March from across the country on Oct 27 and the participants staged a sit-in in Islamabad on Oct 31. The JUI has launched the protest move seeking resignation of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
