11 injured in firing from Afghanistan on Arandu village

RAWALPINDI: Six soldiers and five civilians were injured in Arandu after  firing from the Afghanistan side.

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Afghan security forces fired mortars and heavy machine guns from Nari district of Kunar province targeting civilian population in Arandu Gol area.

Pakistan troops responded effectively and targeted Afghan border posts at Kandkxi and Dilbar from where the fire had been initiated.
Substantial damage to the Afghan border posts was reported. Fire stopped after engagement at military level.

Commandant Chitral Scouts Col Moinuddin said the Afghan side had raised objections when work on border fencing was started.
