Langlands School announces to reopen junior section
CHITRAL: The administration of Langlands School and College on Sunday announced that the Junior School (Jang Bazaar section) will reopen on Monday (Oct 14).
This applies to class 5 and 6 only, it said, adding the other sections would open as soon as possible.
“We apologize to our parents for this disruption and would like to reassure everyone that all the courses planned for this term will still be covered,” said the school on its Facebook page.
The principal of the Langlands School announced to close the institute (all sections) on Oct 8 as teachers continued a protest against her.
Meanwhile, sources told ChitralToday that the principal of Langlands School and College on Sunday insisted that the teaching and non-teaching staff should tender apology in writing for leveling allegations against her and launching the protest.
She repeated her demand when a delegation of parents met her at her residence after holding a meeting to discuss the situation arising out of the closure of the school since Oct 9.
When 15 members of a committee formed by the parents at the meeting on Sunday morning reached her residence, she met only five of them and insisted that the teachers should one by one tender an apology before reopening of the school.
Sources told ChitralToday that the teachers were not ready to apologize and hence the deadlock. As a result, the parents were very concerned and contemplating moving court to get the school reopen.
The announcement by the school administration was made later in the evening.
