Three girls commit suicide within a week

CHITRAL: Three girls committed suicide within a week in different parts of Chitral, police and local people said.

One of the girls, a native of Washich in Torkhow, whose family is settled in Jughor, ended her life by jumping into the river. Her relatives said she had passed the SSC exam with good marks and the reason for her suicide could not be known. The body is yet to be recovered.

In Jinjiret Koh, a girl shot herself dead in her house due to unknown reasons. Local people said she was a patient of epilepsy and had tried to kill herself in the past.

Another girl consumed poison in Pursan area of Shoghor after she could not obtain good marks in her SSC exam. She was brought to the DHQ hospital where she died.
