PM’s sister Aleema Khan stranded in flood-hit Golen valley

CHITRAL: Aleema Khan, the sister of Prime Minister Imran Khan, was on a one-day private trip in Golane valley which was hit by floods yesterday.

She is still in the flood-hit valley but is perfectly safe, family sources told ChitralToday.

The flash floods have damanged the road and bridges to Golen and also infrastructure related to drinking water and energy in the valley.

The NDMA is reported to arranging delivery of medicines and other essential supplies in the valley.

Mrs Aleema Khan is perfectly safe and does not require any assistance, as being misreported in the section of the media, said the sources.

She has stressed that local villages hit by the flood required assistance.

Sources said Mrs Khan is stranded in Golen and is staying in a house in a small village.

The deputy commissioner told a private TV channel that an army helicopter has been requisitioned to rescue Aleema Khan.
