Madaklasht still inaccessible after recent rain

CHITRAL: The road to the Madaklasht valley in southern Chitral is still blocked after rocks and boulders fell on it at different points during the recent rain.

Madaklasht village council nazim Khurshid Ahmed Khan in a statement said no steps were being taken by the department concerned to reopen the road even over a week.

He said people of the remote area, especially students and patients, were facing immense hardship as they remained stranded in their villages.

The nazim called upon the deputy commissioner Lower Chitral to direct the department concerned to send machinery to remove the boulders from the road in order to resolve the problems of the commuters.
