10 families flee after flash flood hit village, Yarkhun road blocked

BIRZOZ: At least 10 families were forced to run for safety along with their belongings and cattle when a flash flood entered their houses in Birzoz village in a sunny day on Thursday.

The flash flood also blocked the road to upper Yarkhun and Broghil valley.

The area received plenty of rain/snowfall this winter and due to a hot afternoon the snow on mountains started melting causing the flash flood in a nullah. However, there were no major damages to any structure though standing crops were affected.
