BOONI: Of late, basic facilities at the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Booni have improved due to personal interest taken by District Health Officer (DHO) Chitral Dr Israr Ullah, said PPP Upper Chitral leader Muhammad Pervez Lal.
Talking to ChitralToday, he said the hospital remained without a lady doctor for long and the vacancy was filled when Dr Zohra Wali was sent to Booni by the health department.
He said provision of medicines at the hospital had also been an issue but now on the directions of the DHO the hospital was getting them regularly.
The shortage of nurses at the hospital has also been resolved. The DHO also played a key role in including the THQ hospital Booni in the list of category C hospital, he added.
Mr Pervez, however, said the hospital direly needed an ambulance and a dental surgeon. Without an ambulance, the hospital is facing difficulty in catering to patients coming from far-off villages, he added. He said the dental unit of the hospital was also without a dentist.
Mr Pervez called upon the DHO to provide an ambulance to the hospital and fill the vacant post of the dentist so that the dental unit can be made operational for the benefit of the local people.
